Kathleen Claire Ambrose

Kathleen, a Beauty (and Drama?) Queen, was born to Frank and Catherine Ambrose in Larkspur, Marin County, California on April 19, 1907. The county's record number for her birth is 11729.

So far, among family I've seen, Kay holds the record for the most marriages. She might have been in Hollywood, as they say. She will be difficult to trace without family help. I bet she was just romanced so hard that she overlooked certain traits or was hoodwinked a few times, just because she was so pretty... but that's my opinion.

The article above reads as follows:
Sept 15, 1933 SF Chronicle
Heading of picture says “He’s Niggardly”
Photo of Kathleen, poised as a beauty queen
Subheading says “Mrs. Kathleen Pinniger- Youthful Wife Blasts Romance of S.F. Doctor-Divorce suit by Beauty puts new wedlock try on rocks.

For the second time in the space of a few years a romance of Dr. Sidney E.D. Pinniger, middle-aged San Francisco physician, with a penchant for young wives, has gone on the rocks.

This was revealed yesterday when Mrs. Kathleen Linquist Pinniger, winner of two beauty contests, who married Dr. Pinniger in 1929, filed suit for divorce. She charged cruelty.

DOLLAR ALLOWANCE CHARGED
Although, the suit states Dr. Pinniger has an income of $6000 a year and owns property to the value of $100,000, he is very niggardly, and recently reduced his wife’s allowance to $1 a week, she says.
In 1926 when he was 50, Dr. Pinniger was divorced by Mrs. Mary Pinniger. Her complaint was that she could not endure the rivalry of her husband’s grown daughter by a former wife.
The romance of the doctor and his present wife had its inception at St. Joseph’s Hospital, where she was employed as a nurse.

GAVE UP CAREERS
After the honeymoon, the __ happy bride announced that she was contented t__ opened by her __ two beauty __ her nur__ wife… (article continued, but torn)

** ** ** Kathleen married Samuel Guerin much later. See below.

This is confusing, I hope someone can help me straighten this out. Note the writing on the reverse of this picture says Kathleen's baby? Esther Lindquist, is in the picture. (I get it, she changed her name)

These bits below are copied from Mary Waters Howard's Family Bible, which has been passed around the family since after the 1906 Earthquake.

In Kay's own handwriting, here is some of her in-between-the-lines wisdom passed on to future generations.

I found her finally in the Social Security Death Index. KATHLEEN GUERIN born 19 April 1907 died January 1981 (no date!) in Sparks, Washoe County, Nevada. Benefits were registered in Sparks.
